Event Report: SparxUp Seminar and IDBYTE Roadshow 2011 in Yogyakarta

Last weekend Yogyakarta was enlivened with various events related to the world of technology and startup, DailySocial recorded at least there were 3 events held on Friday until Saturday. Here's a brief coverage of two events held on Friday and Saturday in Yogyakarta.

Yogyakarta - SparxUp Seminar "Monetizing Mobile Advertising Age"

Last Friday, May 27, 2011 was held the SparxUp Seminar event in cooperation with Bancakan 2.0 and assisted by HIMAKOM friends at the University Club University of Gadjah Mada. Presenting the theme "Monetizing Mobile Advertising Age. "

At the SparxUp Seminar this time, there was an additional speaker Leonard Augustinus - Indonesia Account Manager, Mobile Advertising Google as one of the main speakers. The next keynote speaker was Edo Pamungkas - Mobile Platform Manager from Merah Putih Incubator and one guest speakers namely Sigit Purnomo - Founder of Personaflag.com (Winner of SparxUp Awards for Mobile Category).

Leonard Augustinus gave a presentation about Google Mobile Ads. Then Edo Pamungkas described the opportunity of advertising in application development for mobile. There are several types of ads in the mobile world that is in message, display ads, rich media, location based, and content. While a number of ways to monetize is by mobile banner, sms broadcast/advertisement, subscription services, commercial apps, in apps or games ads.

Then the guest speaker was Sigit Punomo - Founder of Personaflag.com as well as the Winner of SparxUp Awards for Mobile Category presenting about the product. What I've been waiting for from Personaflag was the support for other platforms such as iOS, Android, and BlackBerry, which previously were only supported in the Symbian platform.

The participants enthusiastically followed this event, totaling approximately 78 people and they consisted of various backgrounds, ranging from students to the developers and they were listening to the material related to the mobile world closely. With the existence of such an event Yogyakarta is expected to grow new startups which will be innovative and competitive in the international arena.

IDBYTE Roadshow 2011

One of the roadshow which visited by IDBYTE is Yogyakarta, located in STIMIK AMIKOM Yogyakarta in collaboration with FOSSIL. IDBYTE was held on Saturday May 28, 2011. This event came with a theme of "Overview of Opportunity in the Digital Industry." Participants who came were approximately 100 people consisting of various circles, but the majority are students.

From the previous article, there were changes in the composition of speakers at the event. The first speaker was Herman Kwok - Chief Marketing Officer of Merah Putih Incubator, Pitra Satvika – Founder of Stratego, and Yansen Kamto – Executive Director of IDBYTE. Each speaker is to inspire each participant, and participants were quite active in asking the speaker.

Here Herman Kwok introduced about SparxUp and a little presentation about Kaskus. Enthusiastic participants quite excited when Herman talked about Kaskus, because the majority of participants are Kaskuser. Then Pitra Satvika explained about "Building Career in Social Media" and explained about some new jobs in Social Media. Pitra also explained about the opportunity to reap the benefits only with Social Media.

Then Yansen Kamto was presenting about opportunities that exist in the digital industry, and describes the IDBYTE and Bubu Awards V.07. Presentation from Yansen was very readily accepted by the majority of student participants because it was delivered with some joke which was quite exciting. The enthusiasm of the participants to ask quite a lot, there is one of the participants who already have products and consulted with Yansen. IDBYTE is one startup event at the end of this week in Yogyakarta. Of course we are waiting for other events in the city. Go ahead startup Yogyakarta!
