In addition, PBESI also ensures that there will be friendly matches of the Lokapala: Saga of the Six Realms game, taking place concurrently with the esports exhibition.

"The inclusion of Lokapala as a friendly match in the XX PON Papua 2021 Exhibition cannot be separated from the aspirations and enthusiasm of the esports community who want this local game to be presented.

This is also the realization of PBESI's support for the local game development industry. We believe that the national game industry has great potential to go internationally, so we must always support [the game] together," said Commissioner General Pol. Drs. Bambang Sunarwibowo, S.H., M.Hum.

As previously announced, esports will be contested for the first time as an exhibition sport at PON XX Papua 2021. Originally, PBESI stated last week that PON XX would include just three games: Free Fire, Mobile Legends, and eFootball PES 2021.

To accommodate Indonesian gamers' ambitions while also attracting more exceptional athletes in the esports ecosystem, PBESI chose to add PUBG Mobile in the esports exhibition at the XX PON 2021.

Aswin Atonie, Country Manager of Tencent Games, expressed Tencent's gratitude to PBESI for helping esports to get into PON (Indonesian National Sports Week) for the first time, and at the same time, by adding PUBG Mobile.

"We are very grateful to PBESI for assisting esports in passing for PON XX 2020 for the first time. Tencent Games recognizes that PON is the country's biggest and most renowned sporting event and is prepared to fully assist the success of PON XX 2020 "Aswin Atonie, Tencent Games' Country Manager, said.
